She does all the 5K charity walks with my wife for the past 2 years as well. They are never the last to make it. We started letting her hike with us sort of by accident. I always had her in a Kelty child backpack carrier and took her on alot of hikes. We were going on a quick 4 mile hike through a dry slot cayon thats really level and an easy hike. The kid started walking and refused to be carried. SHe feel asleep as soon as we got back to the truck. Since then she likes to hike.

It's great that she enjoys it! Hiking/camping is a great and simple way to spend quality one on one time with family or friends.

Trying to get a Dad and kids overnighter going this summer. It should be interesting. Three of us are up for it.

Come out to Colorado for a weekend! A friend of mine and his 6 year old son went out today. It was kind of funny how much woodcraft/ fieldcraft has rubbed off on my daughter. She was teaching the boy some basic survival stuff.

so i all got my dogfather, and im going tree killing tomorrow...errr i mean trimming...

Children learn very quickly and LOVE to show/teach their skills to others. Obviously you have taught her well.

the NMFBM hes got is a dream to chop with, doesnt bind up AT ALL (we did a little chopping of plywood in his garage)
