i'm not sure i'm ever getting an underquilt. the blue pad's bulky, but very light and durable. my only real complaint is the comfort under my heels. this has me interested in a textured pad like the z-lite or ridge rest.
however, i just ordered a new sleeping pad: the alps mountaineering comfort series. it's a thermarest-type, self inflating pad. i actualy got it for the ground since my next trip looks like i'll be stuck in wide open space, but i'm eager to try it in either of my hammocks.

I had a hennessy hammock assym and thought it was okay. I ended up returning it off after a few uses. Maybe I did not use it correctly, but I never really slept well in it. Partly the temperature had a lot to do with it. It was cold.
Another thing that I did not like was that, while other users say that you could flip it over an duse it without the net, I did not like using it that way.
What I like about the ENO Double Nest is that I can use it without the net during the day and just relax. I can throw the net on if there are bugs.
If there is rain, I can add a tarp.
I won't try camping at night where it's cold.
In the ENO, I have taken many great naps. IT's very, very comfortable.
It's light and simple.

Hey there K. I don't know what kind of hammock. I think it's gonna be a trial and error kind of thing. I am very willing to take advice and try recommended brands that suit my needs.

Thank you Mag. I appreciate your time and advice. I like the idea of the sleeping pad. I have "heel discomfort issues" in my BED So I will look into the inflatable rig like you said.
K, you also have some great advice that I will look into. The Hennasey looks good but...looks can be deceiving. I don't have much of a choice about camping where it's cold. Most nights around here your lucky if the temp DOESN'T drop below 50. Lately it's been just above.

I like the one in the vid. What is it? Is the price reasonable?

i got mine new on ebay for about $36 shipped. took three weeks to deliver from basically next door, pennsylvania.
i'm not recommending it yet since i haven't been able to try it, but i don't foresee any issues. if it fails for any reason, i'll probably still stick with my grand trunks and buy mosquito netting.
