i have had that bolo a couple years now. it generally stays in my garage for quick access, thus making it one of the most frequently used.
the only maintenance it gets is cleaning. still has vic's original mirror work...though not so pure. i occasionally strop it on my jeans at most.

ive got a trip at the end of july. going to Tenn. i will be spending my days in the woods, so we'll see.
im plannign on taking my DF, S5CG, my opinels, and my necker i carry daily...
not taking any sharpening tools as i HIGHLY doubt ill be doing any damage to my blades and were going to be doing other activities while were there so nothing really gonna get overworked at all.
gonna build some fires, take a try at building a shelter try and make some traps

Mustard patina sounds good but I am a few sheets to the wind and any food or condiments sound good LOL.
I would go all the way, but that is me. It is your blade, do it the way you described and if you dont like then you can go all the way.

yes. i still vote against it. i've done the stripper thing and i don't see the appeal. i sold that knife cheap because it felt ruined. i loved the RTAK before that, too.
it doesn't resemble the LE, it's denies the beauty and character of a worn coating, and least importantly it exposes the steel to oxidation.
however, it's your knife.

i might leave it on. i think once it get bad enough ill strip it and see how it looks, then if i dont like it i can have it recoated...
i do admit i like the character of a well-worn coating

Stripping rarely turns out nice in my opinion unless it is really worked over.

Anyone remember the movie Risky Business? What is the name of the lady that TOm Cruz is opposite of? My brother told me that Cruz married her, but I am not sure. Just wondering if anyone knew before I started looking.
