Another break through with dog training! Been working on stay with Tikka. She has been working on sitting without moving when her dinner is placed in front of her and only go eat when told to do so. Now tonight I had her stay while I wandered out of site, opened the closet she knows her treats are in, made noise getting her a treat and then waited a couple of seconds before calling her. She hadn't moved! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> She is a smart little mutt! She is currently sitting on the couch looking quite pleased with herself! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

And she just fell off the couch while trying to act all cute.. Hilarious! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Its amazing how loyal and smart dogs can be when they're trained and treated well. Its also amazing how dangerous they can be when they're not trained or abused.

I've got pictures somewhere of winter drivers training where a cohort missed the turn off altogether and burried the vehicle in a ditch... I had to put my dog of 16 years to sleep yesterday, it was not easy but I didn't want her to suffer anymore...

Man, it's dead on the Busse forum over at BF. Everyone must either be passed out drunk or preparing for a ganza I don't know about.

Had to deal with both sides when dealing with some of the stray dogs around here. tried a new training system with Tikka. The Dog Listener training. A system based on the horse whisperer and I have to say, I am totally sold on it. Has worked like a charm with her and doesn't use physical violence which can be a double edged sort with animals.

My dogs are fearless. Errr... stupid. But they're friendly and well mannered! (they're the small ones!)

You mean the ganza next weekend? I suspect there are a lot of people getting rested up for that one. Sounds like it could be crazy... Wonder how long the BF will get knocked down this time. It is the final duty we owe to a faithful pet for years of companionship. Tikka is the first dog I have had since my golden had to be put down in 2001.
