We work a rotating shift here, two on, two off, three on, two off, two on, three off, then repeat. I never know what day it is without looking at the calender

I've worked 12 hour shifts here, MAJOR bummer. Specially on the 7pm to 7am shift! Thank goodness the Sheriff we have now does NOT like 12 hour shifts, he says ONLY as a last resort! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

That does seem like a strange shift. BUT if it works, at least you're getting paid!

We work 5:30 til 5:30. Dayshift guys HATE it, but us nightowls don't mind it. I get off and get home before the sun comes up, so I can go to sleep easier.

Subject change, but one day last week I cut up a large limb that broke out of one of our redbud trees. I had probably 8 pieces from around 6-8 inches thick all the way down to about 2 inches and A LOT of "twigs". Over all the limb was proably 8 ft long and pretty bushy. I started using a "pruning" saw but after cutting about 2/3 the way through the limb once, I said this isn't gonna work.
Broke out the DF and commenced to Whacking! GOOD CHOICE! Had it all chewed up and on the burn pile in no time.
Well all that to say this. The wood was kinda still moist/green and I put the DF up without cleaning it. I FINALLY remembered to check it yesterday, and NO RUST!!! Maybe that is because it has been in the mid to high 90's every day since then and I keep the knife in the HOT jeep and I just dried off from all the heat.
