don't like snakes... I can be around them but I don't care to be around them of I can avoid it. always seem to come out of no where in the wild and one creepy story I tell.

im always running into rattlers in the hills behind my house. they always scare the crap out of me cause they dont start rattling until you are right up on them.

Colorado. I have seen one snake where I usually play and it was a garter snake. We have rattlers but they just don't seem to like the area where I hang out. Plus as far as snakes go rattlers are polite. They let you know where they are and that they aren't happy.

We have copperheads and Timber Rattlers here, last rattler I killed was 5 1/2 ft long and big around as my forearm. It was trying to get into my basement through a crack in the molding around my garage door.

I've gone over 5 snakes that I can remember. one while riding a bike, 2 while running and then jumping over them at the last second, and 2 while pushing a lawn mower. not a good feeling to get that close to them and not no it until the last few seconds.

I have seen a ton more diamond back rattlers in NC than anywhere else I have been.

Oh yeah, how can I forget the Diamondbacks? I haven't seen any of them closeby, but I'm sure they're around.

Doesn't matter though, I hate ALL of them LOL

I remember my granddad and uncle talking about water mocassins one day after they had to pull acrews cow from a pond that had got bite. that got into some details about the behavior of that snake. I was a little kid and I think that set my opinion of all snakes. Not afraid of them but I'd just rather not have much to do with them.

In my experience, rattlers will warn you, copperheads will just lay still and bite you if you get too close, but dang cotton mouths will charge you!

I've been fishing on Santee Cooper in SC and the snakes were so bad that there were two fishing and one with a shotgun to keep the snakes out.
