Mine is an ADL, wood stock, blued trigger group, with an old Simmons scope. Sights taken off of it too.

Always look better with the irons stripped off. My opinion though.

Jeff I tend to agree with you, but I DO think a pair of express sights look nice on a fifle with the front swivel on a barrel band.

I also have a 336 Marlin in 30/30 and a .243 NEF Handi-Rifle for my daughter. I figure I have anything around here handled. Black bear, wild boar and deer mostly.

And I had (well when I was younger) always dreamed of owning a double rifle. Don't really know why, just did.

Dad has a Winchester Model 100 in .284, and I belive it's the best rifle I ever shot. He killed about 60 or so deer with it since 1964, and never shot one twice.

Yeah that's like around here, biggest game we have is Whitetail. Most shots are within 150 yards, probably even less that 100.

Skunk, that is a different deal with express sights. The Rem's have some of the ugliest irons available.

Don't really know anything about that round, but sounds good and also sounds like your dad was a good shot!

The NEF in .243, what is the bullet weight you are shooting through it? I have around 400 rds of .243 Hornady A-Max loaded up and thought a HB NEF might be a good thing to go with.
