yeah on REGULAR rifles like that I do like a slick barrel.

Longest kill I ever made was 109 paces, killed several closer than 40 yards. Even killed one with a .22 while I was squirrel hunting. Shot it between the eyes at 15 paces. Dropped in it's tracks.

Yeah, little break open single shot, got it for my daughter due to the lack of recoil. Shoots like a dream too. I'm just not wild about the 243 for deer hunting, the shot needs to be perfect and I don't think she can shoot that good yet.

.243 is a favorite around here with a 100 gr bullet. I have taken some badger, p-dogs, yotes but never a deer since the .243 I had was a heavy brl that I did NOT want to carry around a lot.

In western OK we are getting more of them--especially in the panhandle. Last year a buddy of mines son took one with a bow. Then there is always going out of state.
