IIRC, Thomas Jefferson had some great ideas on elected politicians and serving long terms, pay, etc. In my opinion, a lot of that tonight, the following could be done: 1) Pay for only the time Congress is in session. 2) Same medical that the rest of us are afforded--docts, surgery, etc. 3) Loose the large vehicles that can be picked by the politician and provide them with a small American car ran on CNG. 4) Limit the number of terms that can be served consecutively. 5) If you take money from a lobbyist you are gone. 6) If you miss x amount of votes you are gone (minus for funerals, etc). 7) Can not make money for going to speak at dinners or conferences on Hill time. 8) Personal trips have to be paid for by the politician, go through the same airport security we do, and no extra security. Just a few thoughts.

Biden... Oh boy, some of the dumb things that come out of that man's mouth.
I agree with SH, it's getting a tad heated.

I can't stand politicians, doesn't matter what the party. Term limits should apply on every postion, if nothing else to limit the damage done by inept office holders that keep getting re-elected just because they happen to be a democrat (or republican) in a solid district.

Can't look it up here on the dialup, but Biden was in a custard shop over the weekend, and the manager had the audacity to ask about lowering taxes. Biden told him to quit being such a smartass. ON CAMERA!!!!

Oh here's a good one for you.

ANOTHER politicans hand I wouldn't want to shake. I turned down being in Clinton's motorcade once just because KNEW I would be in trouble with the SS when I would refuse to shake his hand.

I know a good politician, he has served in the OK state Senate and could be there for a while. My friend is a decorated retired Lt. Col, served all over the world, a Christian stand up man, and pushes for the rights of gun owners and military vets while trying to get bad legislation thrown out. I know he has said more than once he has to get out of politics because it makes him feel cheap, dirty, and compromising of his integrity. Mind you this is a guy who was responsible for recovering a lot of Saddams money.
I will get off the politics because I fear that I might have said too much already.
