I'd spend some time at http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/index.php to learn the benefits and make a decision from there. That was my main resource when I was deciding what to do. Helped that the 453 was only about $100 more up here which was less than the cost of a decent trigger group!

What was really nice was that my 453 arrived with a microscopic amount of stock damage. A small mark behind the bolt on the stock. If I didn't show it to you then you would be hard pressed to find it.

Shop owner offered me $120 off or a new stock. I went with the coin. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I would love to carry a S&W 500 instead of the guide gun. Lighter and smaller.

I shoot a .460V I imagine that the 500 kicks even more. For our bears here, the .460 would work just fine. I found load by buffalo bore is supposed to deliver over a ton of KE. Wow.

So, I went to cut some firewood with my cousin today. I was SO ready, grabed by go bag which has my FAK and PSK, Grabbed the KZ, AK and Gladius, R-25, XDM, and BLR threw the camera in the bag and headed to the hills.

When I got there, jumped out ready to do some damage. Realized that I forgot my go bag, and blades. Luckily, I still had my trusty S5 on my hip and back-up PSK. I still had fun.

But, no chop off, and no pics besides what I took with my GPS.

If memory serves me, the load in my guide gun is around the 2900 foot pounds of energy!
