I suggest that when you get your DDF that you run out and lay into something. If I had done that I probably would r have sold it. Man it was a nice knife and I'll hopefully get another one at some point.

I just finished sharpening my Outcast that I used to chop some firewood for the firepit over the weekend. I may try the DDF just to see what the difference is. The Outcast has a recurve blade, and it's a decent chopper but it could be better.

the only reason I got the muk was that it was up. now I look at the muk as a thumb that can cut stuff. I really want a second one.

I've been kinda watching the exchange, but don't see many Muks come through. If I see one, I'll nab it if I can.

I really like recurves and I have want the outcast for a while. would love to get a comparison on the outcast against the ddf. I expect the ddf to win but I still like the looks of a recurve. my busse mojo was not even close to the stuff I am willing to sell.

The thing about the Outcast is it's cheap, at least compared to the DDF. I paid about $65 for mine, and I beat the crap out of it every chance I get. I'll let you know how it does against the DDF if I get the DDF into the woods.

I just like recurves and the outcas came up before I even knew about the yard or Busse. I think Spyderco has a nice sized recurve as well. I even want that... Busse Kin, Kerhaw. and Spyderco have been my main three knive with a 101 course of Cold Steel. So far I've been happy with my purchases and feel like I could've done worse for the money.

I know what you mean, I've been buying Kershaw folders and Bussekin and ESEE fixed blades. Trying to buy quality instead of quantity.

my advice is stay close to the Yard and what you want in knives isn't going to be too far. if you are in doubt buy what you can afford and in the worst case you pass it on to another knife lover. has all worked out for me...

Sounds reasonable to me. I often look at other brands, but very few have me wanting to purchase. The quality just isn't there most of the time.

Well, guess everyone else went to bed. Still sitting here at work, listening for the radio or the phone. Kinda quiet now, and probably jinxing myself by saying it.
