Definitely a good deal, if it is as unused as they say. MSRP for a new Bushy M4 with quad rail is close to a grand more.

that's what I was thinking. the story is that a gun collector traded in a few to pay some bills. they had a vector arms mp5 pistol in 40 cal for $1000 that looked like if had been shot a lot more but was still in really good shape for true use.

I had to ask her if the ar was new or used... If she had old me it was new I wouldve never doubted her.

Sounds like they're honest folk. I'd jump on the opportunity, if it were me, but I don't need an AR, I have to many AKs already, lol.

lazi, sounds good on the price for a BM. Where I am moonlighting this summer that is in the DPMS realm. The BM does not use a GI spec buffer tube, so if you end up ordering a different stock keep that in mind. Another thing to look at is the gas key staking on the top of the bolt carrier--tight and you should be good to go, if it is loose it will cause short stroking issues. IMHO the BM is a great rifle, good brl and it sounds like it has a few of the upgrades already.

and I've seen many an M4 style AR that's been run really hard and ended up with a melted gas key, could cause the same issues as a poorly staked key. here's what we mean ![[Linked Image from shanedaughtry.com]](http://shanedaughtry.com/images/Gas%20Key%20Screws.jpg)

I'll be sure to check it out with that info. this may cure my rifle bug for a while. still want a nice .308 but I started out looking to get an AR. if I can snag one for a good deal then I good.
I had actually started eyeing those cmmg bargain bin rifles a few months back. this seems like as good or better a deal when you think of the shipping, dealer fees , and mods...

yeah, definitely, the quad rail alone is worth the extra hundred bucks, and although it depends on the rail, most rails require a smithy or some difficult handiwork on the owners part to install. Bushmasters have a great rep too, although fit an finish can sometimes be lacking something. Sounds like a real score. At least you knocked out one of your wants right?

m4carbine.com is a great forum for finding out all things AR. Check out the 'Chart', I believe it's under general discussions, to get your questions answered. BM, as are RRA, is a good choice for the target shooter who doesn't depend on their rifle in a combat situation.
Also check out CMMG's bargain basement AR's. As new blems, etc. Around 600.00. I think PitBull of Love or his brother posted their's a while ago. Now that's a deal. Do a search and you'll find it.
Can't go wrong either way.

I saw that post by PBOL and have considered the bargin bin. just something about being able to see the gun when I buy that keeps me from buying online. just nicer to have it in hand.
