I think the $200 is a major division.. I doubt Dan would want to go past it, but the DF is a lot more blade to get shiny!

I guessed $189.95, but it could well be more. Dan already mentioned that the DFLEs were taking a lot of time to finish. Time is labor is money.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I went with 199.95.
A DFLE is going to be a big chunk of shiny steel. A lot of extra work is going to be involved in their manufacture over the CG DF. That being said, I just don't see Dan pushing over the $200 mark for a knife at this time.
I look forward to finding out though!

I guessed 199.95 but Dan keeps surprising us with his aggressive pricing. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I think you guys are underestimating a bit. I guessed 219$ because it is going to take a lot of work and there not the need to provide people with the best user. Most of these will probably end up as safe queens. There will also be a limited amount. When you look at how much more a S6LE was than the S6CG. Look what a FBMLE costs! I love RES C but I could see micarta or even wood for handle material on the LE models someday.

I don’t think it will be that much extra work. Remember, they don’t shine ‘em up by hand the slow long way like most people do, they have benchgrinder buffers and all that. I don’t think it would take more than a few hours per knife. Of course, if you had a few hundred knives, that’s gonna add up and take a long time, but it shouldn’t add that much extra cost I don’t think.
I don’t want micarta on Dogs! It’d be the Swamp all over again! I don’t really like wood either. I’d rather have res-c or micarta. You could always mod one and make your own micarta or wood handle though. Might be a neat project. Wolf at Swamp Rat is in the process of modding his HRLM. He rounded the butt, and will be putting custom handles and filework on it. I thought it would be neat to do something like that, but I don’t have the skill for it.
