JJ, I've been told that the D700 is like a D3 without the price tag. Would you consider that to be accurate? I'm confused with that statement. The 700 is more expensive than the 300.

Litter boxes!! I have cats too!!! Stink box!!!!
Doesn't matter how GOOD the litter is you HAVE to do it every 3-4 days MAX!!!
That's what kids are for!!!!! lol, I can barely afford the cat! Somehow the price to performance ratio on that one... yeah, no... not right now anyway

Not the D300, but the D3 pro-grade camera. It's about a 5k camera.

As for the NMFBM, we drove around with FLIR looking for the [censored] thing in a humvee hopping it would be hot enough to show up. We spent about three hours untill the sun started to set. Then we went back to the FOB.

I missread. I agree. There are subtle differences, but in the end, the D700 produces the same quality with the exact same sensor.

That's a real shame, I hope your buddy wasnt too torn up about it. It's like losing a member of the family. OK, maybe not...

Well, JJ, sounds like I may be going back to reevaluate my camera choice, LOL. I hve been using a borrowed D300 for wedding season, and I love it. But if the D700 is that much better, then I should at least check it out and see what I could do.

Go to dpreview and click on buyers guide/side by side. choose the d300 and the d700 and the d3. You will see how inferior the d300is andhow close the d700 is to the d3. It is the best bang for your buck on the market now. Pay attention to the sensor sizes, not the MPs.

ECF, is the MO for the knife? If so make sure you ask what name to put on the MO!!!!
I'm having this problem right now.
I bought from the XC. Communicated with the dude and his email and he said his name was Doug (changed for his privacy). I got an email from him with his shipping address. Now I obviously have NEVER met him but his shipping address had a different name on it. I didn't think anything about it. (I should have asked though). I figured the name was a room mate, partner or whatever. Well it turns out that Doug is his nick name and the name in the shipping info is his REAL name so now there is a chance that his bank WON'T cash the MO!!!!!
Ask for the SPECIFICS!!!
