T, are you saying Prime lens as a brand name or prime as in fixed focal length? Or Primary lens? as in fixed focal length. thats all i really shoot out of. i just find that they take super clear pictures and they do really good in low lighting.

Yeah, fixed lens are usually clearer, no zoom abberations

the fixed usually do, as you noted have a better response to low level lighting.

Fixed lens are better at low light because they are usually faster lens. With some of the higher end zoom lenses, you'll be hard pressed to notice lack in sharpness though.
