The mountain was owned for a long time by Hugh Morton, he was famous for supporting photographers from all over. The man was an icon, and I am better off for having known him.

The editor at the paper told me to keep my stuff when I quit, that way I could still string some for them. It works out ok.

Hugh died a couple years ago, during the Nature Photography weekend. I was working for the paper then, and came up and spent the day talking with the crowd and putting together a fitting memorial. Best story I ever wrote.
