Tonester, Sent you a PM back. NO WORRIES (trying out my Auzzie Accent, but don't think I've got it down yet)!

Alright, with a little imagination, this might explain the latest plan.

[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]

The dark gray is the pommel, tang and muzzle ring from the M7. The lighter gray is the Reg blade and tang. The white circles are the hole where bolts will hold it all together. The darker gray rectangle to the right is a metal plate that will lay on top and bottom (there will be 2 of them) held on by the bolts. There will be a bolt going through the thong of the Reg tang to hold it in the "cradle" create by the plate and M7 parts. The metal plate will also hold the muzzle ring against the bottom of the blade.

Ok JJ, that is what I figured (the left picture) all I didn't understant at the time was the additional top and bottom plates. Should work!

The hardware store, OBI, by my house has the metal plates and wood I will need.

The blade/tang of the regulator is exactly 8mm. The M7 tang is supposed to be 4mm. We'll see when it gets here. They sell 2mm plates that are 20mm wide, approximately the same width as the M7 tang, just a tad wider. A little dremel action will fix that. I will have to cut to shape and lay a 2mm plate on either side of the M7 tang to make it the same size as the Reg tang. Then I can put the solid plate on top and bottom.

I think I have come up with a pretty simple plan, and it doesn't require me altering the actual steel I got from the Scrap Yard. Plus, the Res C came off and is completely undamaged. So, if this idea fails, I can just put it back on.

Toney, tried to send you a PM but your box was full

JJ. Sounds like you got a workable plan. Specially like the ability to put everything back "as was" if it don't work out or you change your mind some day.

Very easy. I drilled out the rivet then just yanked it off.

Jerks. That is cruel and unusual and should be classified as torture. Should've just let him finish
