All newspapers have been content to live in the stone age. They completely missed the boat, over the last 20 years, in regard to the internet, and other technologies. Now, the newspaper industry in dying, with little hope of recovery.

Newspapers can die, that should be accepted as inevitable. It is evolution. The newspapers organizations need to evolve as well and stop thinking of themselves as "newspapers." They should just think of themselves as news organizations and concentrate on how to best monetize their content on whatever medium they find most suiting.

Other than my protegé, very few editors and owners think this way.
