Hey JJ, is the magazine in fact ONLY about Marines?

Yes it is.

The reason I ask is that My Dad was in Korea in '50-'51 and I thought If I could get a copy he might enjoy it. Oh, he was a grunt surveyor, layed in the big guns.

I am not on the staff of Marines Magazine, but I contribute often. It is an outlet for me to get my art work published.

I'll get you a copy, he may still enjoy it.

By the way, most of the papers STILL have no idea where they went wrong, or even an idea that something went wrong. They're convinced that it's the economy, or that kids just don't read these days, etc. They think they need to get more readers by adding more personal interest stories, more cultural diversity, etc.

Perhaps next time we can talk about the other side of the failure of the papers: They have always been a terribly inefficient means for advertisers to get their messages out. They have done a poor job of adapting, to become more efficient. Meanwhile, more efficient, less costly alternatives have popped up, and few buy advertising anymore.
