Yeah Spent 3 years at Clark Air Base, when there was a Clark. Married to one for 11 1/2 years. Then I finally decided that if she was gonna go THAT kind of stuff she could find a different! Best choice I ever made. Well 2nd best. Marrying Patty was the best.

It's water under the bridge now, I divorced her in 1986 and Married Patty in 1998. Dec 7th actually, that date ring a bell with you? It didn't with us until after we got back from Arkansas <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> (yeah it's legal, I checked <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />)! and someone commented on the date.

Gene Bane/Stars and Stripes
Lebanon, August, 1958: Army Pfc. Howard L. Fields of Fayetteville, N.C. and E Company, 187th Infantry, rides a mule to deliver copies of Stars and Stripes to scattered Army units near Beirut. The paper was printed at Stripes' plant in Griesheim, Germany, and flown overnight to Lebanon.

I'm lost on the date....

I guess things weren't as critical in Lebanon, They only had the MULE express. (he must have been from Missouri)!

I think it's cool they had infantry deliver the paper.

I wonder how many stops he had already made. Didn't look like he had all that many copies left.
