I could do the Himalayan Imports thing for only twice as much and get a shiny blade.

I have 1 HI blade...a Bolo, and while it is GREAT big thick heavy blade...the wooden handle isn't up to par and has cracked on me in several locations...I still really like it, but would like to get it rehandled.

What steel does HI use? I'm assuming the Kabar would be 1095. I think they use leaf springs from Mercedez-Benz trucks. The big Ka-Bar choppers are made in Taiwan. I think the steel is 1085 or something like that. Whatever it is, it works.
