There are a lot of splendors you shouldn't miss. Go see 'em. Bring your loved ones.

It's worth traveling around, Todd. It's a beautiful world.

I got married and tied down fairly young. Kids are about grown and we're getting to where we can travel a little without worrying about them and who's going to watch them while we're gone. Now it's just saving for the trips and getting time off work.

I would love to take Patty out west to see the mountains and the ocean. But with her medical conditions she doesn't travel well. When we go to see the Granddaughter (about a 7-8 hour trip) she is whipped! About the only way we could travel would be in an RV, something WE CANNOT afford. That way she could lay down and prop her leg up when it started hurting to bad.

Keep in mind that it's possible to travel for very little money. You can camp, eat inexpensive foods that you bring and prepare for yourself, and so on. You don't even need to pay for campsites; there are national forests, logging roads, etc., where you can camp for free, all over the place.

I want to make a trip to Yellowstone, then on to Yosemite and back by way of the Grand Canyon. HOPEFULLY in the next few years.

Well, Randy, there's also always a lot to explore, in your immediate area.

Yeah, that's how my folks and I vacationed back in the '60's. I know HOW to do it, but as I said with Patty's medical conditions, she just does not travel all that well.

Mike, yes there is. When we finally get our truck (hopefully this week) or next we are gonna plan a trip to Land Between the Lakes. It's just over 100 miles east of here.

Yeah, that post was addressed at Todd. I understand how Patty's condition doesn't allow for it. See my following post.

And we'll be considering on going to "Johnson's shutin" again and Elephant Rock. Both of them are here In Mo. and less than 100 miles away. We've been to them once and it's well worth the visit.

We want to rent an RV when we take our trip, but have to see how that will run against car+motels. My wife does not tent camp so that's not an option for us.

Johnson's Shutin?

I'm not familiar with it.
