JJ, you can use all sorts of things to force a patina. Mustard. vinegar, onions, potatoes, tomatoes virtually anything that will cause a reaction with the metal. And I have heard that you can use Windex to neutralize it once you reach the look you want. A paste made from baking soda works as a neutralizer too. Used it when I stripped a barrel once upon a time, soaked in vinegar and then applied the paste when I was done.

rth, yeah pretty much sos every where for Narcs. AND I think you have to have at least a touch of larceny (not saying you give in to it) in your blood stream to fit in really well. It's a tough life, Mentally. No JJ, Just saying it's NOt all in the family for him, well it is, but it's different. We had one boss that made an accusation and I ate him for lunch. The only time in my career I got to chew out a guy that was at least 4 pay grades above me. We poly in and out as well as serious checks and balances. The group I worked with was the most ethical and trustworthy people I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

Our narc guys here are great, but there are always people calling in accusing them of being dirty. I guess they do a GREAT job of fitting in with the druggies LOL

It hads its moments. My wife didn't care for the look. But it was actually better for family life than any uniformed gig I have worked.

People just have a hard time beleiving that anyone that is around that much dope and cash isn't corrupt. I guess they don't understand that a few grand isn't worth my integrity much less my freedom and job. I trusted those guys with my life many times and would trust any of them to this day with the same.
