When I left Omaha for the Aleutians (and counting 30 days vacation) I spend a total of 90 days in the Portland/clackamas area and IT WAS NICE! IF I had a job waiting I would move up there in a heartbeat!

Myke, depends on the area. Here in our county, the largest town only has about 8000 people.

Oh and only 3 other towns have populations over 2000, and THEY all have their own Police Depts. So we don't need dispatch for them.

We have 7 deputies and 2 dispatchers usually, and we could use double that most nights. We have a little over 500 sq miles, and about 25,000 ppl, from what I remember pretty comparable to your area. But we're slammed every night, all night.
