Thanks. It looks a little rough at the moment, but once the paint is finished curing,the wooden pieces are added to the the handle for some shape and the wrap is put on, I think I may have made something to be proud of.

I did my best to leave the government stamps visible. I replaced the spring in the pommel too. The original one was pretty corroded and didn't look like it would last much longer.

I am going to check my rifle out of the armory next week and do some thrust testing on it. I have a few pieces of 1" ply wood I am going to try and pierce. I put it on a plastic martial arts training M-16 today and it fit perfectly.

I can still take out the large bolt and slide the blade/tang out and put it back into the res c handle. Takes a little muscle though. It fits very snug.
