The fresh bacon was a surprise. It was way better than any store bought bacon I have ever had. Apparently a local farm has a smoke house.

My bayonet is really coming along. Feels good to see all the knuckle scrapping work I've been doing turning into something.

It would have been less work if I had a fully stocked metal shop, but military life moves me around every three years or so, so I have to work with smaller tools.
