Class A Certification
The Academy is pleased to announce the addition of Patrol Rifle training to our Academy.
The Class A Certification is issued by the State of Missouri upon completion of a minimum of 600 hours of training at an approved law enforcement training academy. Our Class A Law Enforcement Academy Course includes the state curricula with 80 additional hours of training in area of Patrol Rifle, Radar, TASER, Hostage Negotiation, and Datamaster Instrument training. Our Class A course is offered in two formats:
The weekday class lasts for 17 weeks which run Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Classes begin the last Monday in January and July of each year.
The weekend class is approximately nine months long and designed for students working full-time. The classes meet every Friday night 6 p.m.-10 p.m.; each Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; and each Sunday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Classes begin early in September of each year. There will be breaks for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Easter.
The cost of our Class A course is $4,200 and covers all books, ammunition, uniforms, and exam fees. A $100 application fee is required upon registration. Students will be required to use the current state vendor for fingerprinting costing approximately $53.00 For students who don't own a handgun, an Academy handgun is available for rent during range training. The rental fee is $50.00.
