I'd happily take a shift like that. I work 5 9-hour shifts | | |

I feel cheated if I only get 2 days off. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
I like the longer shifts. No breaks and no guarantee of a meal break but the days off are worth it.

12 hour shifts here, every other weekend is three days off, work 7 days out of 14. Love having the time off, but working nights the first day off all I can do is sleep.

Years ago I worked a weekly rotating shift. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> We NEVER got enough sleep until our one long weekend a month. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

It's interesting to see all of the different work schedules....and good to hear the perspectives of how it "works".
I work the desk...clock an average of 5 10's, but the work never stops. Emails / calls through the night with customers / partners, and often through the weekends as well. Seems never ending....once it seems to clear up, you hear this sucking vacuum noise and you keep getting sucked back into it.

It's all the more reason to go beat up vegetation with my SYKCO's <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

The chief cause of unhappiness and failure is trading what you want most in life for what you want at the moment.

Evening, set schedule..................don't remember those. Found out today that I have a different room, had to track some of my stuff down since it made it into other rooms (they tried blaming the custodial staff), and a lot of Ra-Ra stuff about tightening our belts and so on. First suggestion in the suggestion box is to have the administration take a pay cut. my largest class is 38 and smallest is 27--when we are supposed to be at 25 students according to the state legislature. Of course the legislature suspended the number of students in the room, we lost a plan period, classes lengthened, and more duties due to the crunch; but I do have a job. Enough complaints.

Was watching the Carolina-Baltimore game, rainy night in Baltimore. Panthers down 17-12.

Any time I start griping about my job, I try to stop and think about all those without jobs. Usually is enough to make me chill.
