I am doing a feature about being married to a SOCOM troop. They get calls in the middle of the night and have to leave the next morning wihtout being able to tell their families where they are going, what they will be doing or when they will be back. It has to take a special woman to deal with that. Also, the kids must think their dad is James Bond.

Not sure if it will be a series or not. We (editors and I) have discussed that. We'll see where it leads. Going to be long relative to newspaper articles either way.

I had to just shake my head at our "local" weekly paper here. The paper is only 1/2 to 2/3 as wide as it used to be a couple years ago. I know some of it is because it is a really small weekly but I mean geez, gimme a break.

Printing cost compared to readership and advertising revenue are forcing even the biggest papers to do the same. Everybody is getting their news from Tv or internet these days.

Our paper here went to the smaller sheet size, it's to save money and they can make a paper look full with less content. I personally can't stand it. I cancelled my subscription and told them exactly why. The bad part is, I'm a stringer for the paper, and get it at half price, and still refuse to re-subscribe.

I never even read the paper I work for. I do check the website though.
