MB, our kids go back next week. I can't wait to have the house to myself during the days again.

First day, got to love that. What grade is she going into?

Wow. Here in our part of NC, gun season is only 3 weeks, beginning the Monday before Thanksgiving.

She is officially starting kindergarten. After 2.5 years of private school. After meeting the teachers I am afraid the kid will be bored.

That is along deer season. I would do more deer hunting if it were like that here.

Hope not, but that could be the case. Maybe there will be enough newness to keep her occupied. Is it all day or half-day?

Arkansas used to have a rather long deer season. Three deer seasons for rifle and one for muzzleloading and a long bow season. Thats one of the things I miss.

All day school. She is pretty bright and after watching the teacher interact with the kids during an orientation it will be interesting. They are working on really basic stuff like tying shoes etc. I hope she isn't bored. If she is bored she will be disruptive just like I was until they put me into the gifted and talented program.

Yeah, that could be a bad thing. Maybe the teacher can give her some extra stuff to work on. Does your daughter know how to tie her shoes? If so, let her learn some knot tying--you can always use some lanyards!

She ties them in double knots. She is starting to learn multiplication. Adds and subtracts pretty well already and is hit or miss with reading. She will do great reading then just refuse and start again.

We have been working with her and her private school would appear to have had a curiculum above the level of kindergarten.
