I'm ready for deer season to get here too. Think I'm going to hunt black-powder this year, don't usually do that but it's two weeks now instead of one. Still don't bow hunt, just never liked shooting a bow. At least you can use a crossbow here now, but I still don't care for it

I love bow hunting. It about the only thing I hunt with anymore.

I hope to get out to Montana someday to hunt, I'd love to try my luck out there. If not Montana, at least somewhere out west.

Except hogs. I haven't taken a hog with one yet.

Depending on where you go its a different kind of hunting.

I keep forgeting to put in for antelope. I have several big ranches to hunt on.

I just wanna hunt deer, whitetail or mule deer, doesn't matter. I'm not in shape to climb mountains or hike for miles and miles, but I can deer hunt ok. I figure if I can get close with the 4wheeler, then walk to my stand, then I'm ok.

I've done a little hog hunting here, and I sure don't wanna bet my farm on a bow and arrows. Give me 150 grains of .30 caliber lead and we'll talk!

And the .30 caliber is a minimum!

I tend to hunt the dark timber here. Still lots of walking. Other parts its shooting across valleys etc. Not my thing. Hence the bow. I like it up close and personal.

I took my last Elk from about 12 feet

I am not sure how well I will do this year. Its still hot most of the time. They stay up high during the heat. ANd it hasn't gotten cold enough to drive them down yet.
