a local dealer has a satin black heritage 22 with real pretty grips. online searches are generally owners who like em or single six owners saying spend the extra. it's $200 and i don't mind a safety.
bad buy? For $200, I'd grab it. If nothing else, it would be a pretty good range toy.

bad buy? The Heritage Rough Riders are not too bad, the accuracy seems to be good in fact. The thing the Rough Rider has going for it is the price where as the Ruger Single Six is more due to better materials in the frame construction and finish. Saying that, and if you don't mind the safety on the side, the Rough Rider should be fine. Speakingf the material used in the receiver it is a cast metal but should be no problem because you are shooting .22 lr and .22 mag. One thing to remember is the resale of a Heritage is very low but a Single Six holds its value pretty well. Are you looking at a 7 1/2" brl?

Doing well Todd. Get the kids back in the classroom on thursday but I wish the weather would cool off. We have had it rough this summer. IIRC, I was bitching about the rain in June and now the heat. Go figure LOL.

Mag, is this going to be a range gun with going into the field as a trail gun?

Best revolver I ever shot was a Ruger Single Six. I was stupid and sold it years ago, been holding off to get another one. About all I can afford to shoot these days is .22

We've had rain the past couple of days, kept our temps down in the upper 80's. Still humid as all get out, but at least it's tolerable. Can't wait for next week, off all week and planning to do some camping.

I have the end of Transformers II on. Not as good as the first one in my opinion but not bad. Colony comes on in a bit, so I will try giving it another chance. Not too keen on it thus far, but who knows.

it's a 4". they accidentally ordered two for some guy who wanted that model, and they're tryin to unload the spare. they also have the lcr for $400, which is another revolver i like. still think i want the 22. some .357 smith for $650 had my attention as well.

Every time I hit the range my Smith Model 17 goes with me. If it were not so nice I would take it on te trail. My dad put a 4" Ruger SP101 with a half lug in lay-a-way the other day. I think it will be the best kit gun with the exception of the old Smith Kit Guns. IIRC, Ruger only made 1/2 lug brls for about 3 years.

My brother was taunting me a bit because he was headed to the lake with a cousin of ours and wanted to know what I was doing today------------WORK. Ugh.
