Yeah, only reason I want the 357 LCR is for woods carry because .38 spcl +p will be fine for the street. What Gen is the 19? I want to find a Gen 2 19 and try it out. If not, then I will get a 3rd Gen and have the humps removed. Finding a decent priced Sig P229 in 9mm is almost impossible.

3rd gen, the finger grooves fit my hand perfectly. But then again, I like finger groove grips, I have the Hogues on both my Sigs and my Ruger MkII.

Lots of P228's out there right now, same size as the P229 but folded slides. I would love to pick up one of those.

my only concern is parts wearing. i hear that happens, but only a couple reviews have had a problem and others have put thousands of rounds through theirs and they're fine.

gotta check on warranty. or just go for the blackhawk in .45. i don't expect to shoot that often either, i have too much on my plate as is, so ammo cost isn't that big a deal.

I like the 228 even if it is folded. Not a problem on my end. I need to look a little closer though and see where they are. In my AO they are pricey.

Don't overlook the SP101 for a .357 woods gun. It's a little heavier, more robust and will help with recoil more. Great shooting little guns. If weight isn't a problem, I'd look at it too.

Sumo, you ever check out Sigforum? That's the only other forum I visit regularly. I like it almost as much as here.

Blackhawk in .45 would be a real eye opener for anyone looking at it from the wrong end LOL. Another good gun, but then again I've never had a bad Ruger revolver.

For the weight I would get 3" brl SP101. But I would carry it in the city way more so the lighter weight would be preferable.

Yes, a little. Need to go there some more and do more reading.

For daily carry, lighter would be better LOL. That SP101 is a little tank!

There is a Blackhawk that has a 45 colt and 45 acp cylinder. Helps with the cost. There is a Blackhawk in 357 which can shoot the 38 spcl and even be had with a 9mm cylinder too. Too many options but fun!!!

oh it has to be .45 because of those 335 grain, 1300 fps loads that only the blackhawk can handle.

excluding single shots.
