We've been busier tonight than a one-legged man in a butt kickin contest

We had every unit on a CFS at all times all shift. Nobody got any down time.

We're just really shorthanded tonight. Not really a lot going on, but about half our normal cars to spread the calls out to.

Truth be known, we've probably had a pretty quiet Friday night, except for the lack of available units to give the calls to.

We had more units than normal. It was a darned good thing. I have been shagging calls just to keep my guys heads above water. I bet I took at least 10 calls not including showing up at the hot callls.

Good for you to take calls. We have one Lt here that refuses to take calls, he just sits in dispatch and tells the dispatchers where to send units. Needless to say, he's not a very respected member of the dept.

I shag them when its busy. Usually I go to the hot calls or the particularly nasty one. Other wise I just direct my resources and make sure my people have what they need to get the job done.

Todd, tell your Lt I said that he has no concept of how to be a leader! Delegation yes, but unless your Dept specifies he remains at the desk he should be out being a cop and backstoping his people! As***le!

It makes the day go by fast. It beats performace reviews, IA files and reviewing reports. But those are always waiting in my spare time.

IF he wants to be a dispatcheer, let your Sheriff MAKE HIM A DISPATCHER and see how he likes it!
