My favorite place for camera equipment is in New Jersey. Hard to beat their prices and great service.

Unobtainium because she isn't getting one. 28 grand is a nice car, Not a camera lense. If she was doing it for a living again I might consider it. I know they make lenses that are far more expensive. But until she gets a job working for the NFL as a photographer it probably won't happen. Never shot NFL, but I've shot NCAA games. I always looked out of place with my camera and 200mm and 300mm lenses, while the pros all carried 400mm and 500mm stuff. I usually got some good stuff though, so it isn't ALL the lens.

She does wildlife photography. Its nice to be able to have a good lense with some magnification. Beats the snot out of wearing a Ghillie suit and low crawling across a field to get a shot.

I usually got some good stuff though, so it isn't ALL the lens. i'm nto sure how widely applicable this is, but i think the better you are, the less your equipment matters. i know recording isn't the same, but as far as performing goes, i'll smoke most guitarists who have a $7000 rig with only a $1000.

Wildlife photography requires long lenses, that's true. I do more photojournalism and sports, which I can get by with my longest lens a 300mm. I do ok <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
