It seems to be pretty rugged for a thin 3mm blade. It feels better than it looks. It is very light and fast, good for machete work. It will chop, but not as well as an Ontario camp machete or Dog Father. I am plannig a trip into the Altamaha River swamps. The Condor Jungle Bowie and the Dumpster Mutt will be my fixed blades. I just think that in an anarchy situation such as New Orleans after Katrina, this would be the blade to have for self defense.

That girl made some of my Cold Steel knives too!
LOL..
she's also highly trained in sewing.. and Mig Welding too!

did a great job on my Nikes, and perfect spot welds on some bicycle parts i bought!

I head that she moved on.... You know the next step up from a sweat shop. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Here are a few more "Urban Blades". These are more self-defense or fighting bowies than general utiliy/combat knives. This one is light, fast, pointed, sharp, and strong.

These are some older ones, a Western and a German bowie:

I suppose this would be a more modern approach:

What do you have with you while your at work? There is a good chance that you wil not be home when it hit's the fan. At the very least I will have my SS4 or if I am lucky my Mutt(hope it get's here today). If I am home when it happens I am set and I am even pretty good if I am in the car as I have a CS shovel and first aid kit with a mora and powerbars etc. If you are looking for a budget set up cosider a HI Point carbine and a machette. Now I am going to put some Nalgene bottles of water in the car.

Usub, I had a hi-point years ago. It worked well. Are they legal in Canada?

Horn dog,
I have the Hells belle version of your ontario fighter. That's the Gambler you have there, right? One of these days, I'll pick that version up, as well.
Currently, the hells belle is living on the headboard of my bed, where it has lived since I moved to my new house. It is extremely quick in the hand, for such a large blade. definitely one of the best fighter designs I have ever seen.
I like the sheath a lot, as well. very good design.

The Bagwells are sweet toothpick style Bowies. They are fighters. Lots of reach, quick in the hand, and really pointed.

I think they are legal and even unrestricted but don't quote me as the gun laws seem completly random. For example an Norinco AK47 clone is completly banned but a Norinco M14 clone is totally legal. So is the CZ that looks just like an AK.
Balisongs are totally illegal but I can walk around with my DF inside my backpack.

OH well it's still a million times better than those poor bastards in the UK have it.

This summer I am going to buy a huge chunk of bush and build a little long house and have all my friends over to shoot ,play with knives ,ride dirtbikes and drink some good beer and maybe even some mead. I would love to have the guys from the yardcome by to shoot Elk ,wolves, bear ,ptarmigan and whitetail as well as do some great fishing. It is so nice to be able to do that stuff on private property where you don't have to explain yourself or justify your lifestyle.

Is it possible to see some knives with a different coating colors? I would like for the yard to offer some in OD or maybe urban camo.
