I'm in the process of losing a few pounds. I'm 6'2. My "fighting weight" is about 220 (I was 218 coming out of basic training 8 years ago). I was at 257 last month - and decided that it was time to do something about it. Tried a strict diet for a week and lost 10 pounds. Hated life, though. I decided to just eat healthy and exercise a bit, and dropped 6 more pounds the next week. So, I'm at 241 right now - which is half way to my goal of 225. Long story short, I may just have a glass of bourbon on the rocks tonight to celebrate the 1/2 way point!

Mags and I were talking about workouts last night. I need to lose some weight as well. Good on you for taking it on while you're in your final push at school. I probably would not be successful at that. I think I gained close to 20lbs in my grad program...granted, I was also working 40-50hrs a week. My wife did all the cooking, mowed the yard, and changed the oil in my truck for about a year All I did was sit behind a desk, or so it seemed.

Sounds like you're on the right track, with the attitude to back it up!

Thanks! I've been doing a whole lot of iced tea (by the pitcher, I drink one and brew another - so I always have 2 going). I do a McDonalds Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad about 3-4 days a week for lunch. They are GREAT. Really. (I'm generally not a McDonalds guy at all - and if I am, its a huge burger. Those salads are fantastic, though!). Lots of apples. The occasional couple piece of bread dipped in Balsamic Vinegar (great stuff!). And, snacks here and there. A few Cheetos. Stuff like that. Its been working! And, it has been something I can live on without feeling hungry all the time.

Hey diceman! I have a different take on suppressed weapons. The gov't makes us put mufflers on cars, motorcyles, lawn mowers and other noisy things. "Silencers" should be mandatory. I mean, is it reasonable for me to ask my neighbors to put on their ear muffs every time I want to shoot something? Some things need shooting. That's what old TVs are for. They blow up good, heh heh. They blow up real good.

Isn't it odd how the Brit's are required to use them? Yet, in the land of the free....it's as if they label you as part of the "Mob".

I agree that they should be mandatory, and even if they arent...they sure as hell should be allowed for hunting, etc. It's ridiculous that they are not allowed, except for varmint hunting.

Hi Sumo, Hi HD

Ah yes, I'm with you - I think they should be legal.

At my house, though - if I'm shooting guns - that means someone has broken in and I'm trying to kill them as they try and kill me. I want my neighbors to hear and call the police!!

Absolutely. That's why you put a brake on the AK...30 rds of 7.62 sounding like a cannon going off

Mag - is NJ really that strict?

Ishikawa - I wish I'd have known about those P3ATs sooner. I'd been packing around a snubbie .38 special (SW 642). The Kel Tec is much more portable.

And, my holster for it is sweet.

I love my "muffler" on my Uzi. So quiet and non-disturbing

I think I saw Looper Leather of OKC, OK make them. Looper has been making leather products for LEO and general market for decades.

And yes, you do need one for your LCP, Sumo.
