Over on BF, they have been doing a custom machete thread for months. Well, our own Vic is in charge of the testing and it started today. For those who haven't seen it, it's a great thread.

And of course- they have the right Dog for the job!

That is VERY exciting IMO .Vic is doing a great job and showing what these blades can do in actual field use situations. I for one would like to see more of this . A big kudos to Vic and a HUGE Thanks to the guys that had the balls to send their work down to be tested. I buy a heap of steel and if can't perform-I simply don't want it.Are these blades going to be for sale after the review ? Unless Vic just decides they ain't going nowhere and keeps them in his collection ( JK) Great thread Thanks

Joezilla asked me to do this last year, and of course I said yes. I mean, chopping stuff with big knives is what I do. I wish I could keep them all, but they go on to Joe. He will do videos of them in use. Don't worry. I have a nice Busse BWM and ESEE Junglas comparison coming up soon. The chopping never ends.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

That is sweet HD! Thanks for putting in the extra work.
I can't wait to see the BWM/Junglas comparison!. I have never held or seen these blades in person. According to there stats they are virtually identical.
It should be a wicked good chop off!!!

Yes, they are the same size and about the same weight. Of course, I will not be testing to the point of destruction (I hope). That is not the kind of review I do. I will be using them for their intended purpose. We know that INFI is a superior steel to 1095. But their similarities beg for a comparison. Even their names describe the purpose of these knives, the Junglas Machete and the Busse Bushwacker Mistress. To keep things fair, I have a factory edged BWM just waiting on that Junglas. I haven't decided which forum to post the comparison on yet.

Hey Vic,

I haven't seen the thread yet and BF is down right now, but will you be comparing the ESEE Lite Machete? I just got one and love it. Different animal from the BWM and Junglas but I'd be interested in what you think of it compared to others of that size/shape.

Edit: Got onto the thread. Well worth checking it out. I'll be watching this for sure.

Just got a BWM and must say that it is awesome . The DFLE used to be may favorite chopper/ Bush knife..........now- that might be changing. I have my eye on the Junglas- but will be interested to see what you have to say about the comparison.Keep the reviews comon Vic- this is what it is all about IMO.

On any other Busse blade this size Id put my money on the Junglas..however the new bushwacker looks like a heavy duty competitor in this class of sized blades...if ya can use a cutting medium before and after for edge retention testing included......Busse family 101 has smoked INFI in edge holding...so it'd be good to see a different company Heat treat with higher carbon compare.

Thanks for the review.

In PI they use big blades for everything. That parang looking thing looks like the blades they carry over there.
