Just buy all of them. You will eventually anyway. They will either hold value or go up. I have several of all mentioned and can't part with even one at this point Just one

Lazi, I thought you had both? I never got a SOD because I have the 2 YardHooks. Been wanting a SOD more and more as I see them. I did have a DDF but sold it because I wasn't using it. Well now Im missing having a big ole chopper so it's back on the list.

That is why whenever I get rid of something I would rather trade . That way I have something else besides just money

Having all to to choose form the SOD in LE dress is a much prettier EDC hip blade. It's also shorter and while getting stares everywhere it is still inches shorter than the DF. You could still whip out a SOD at the restaurant to cut a steak, but the DF would look like using a Machete.
Easy choice for me..Son of Dog Father Limited Edition!
Peace.

If I am going to carry a knife for chopping duty, I like a longer blade. While the SOD will certainly do, the DF can do more. A big knife can do what a little knife can do, even if a bit awkwardly, but a little knife can never chop as well as a big old 10" blade can.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I like the dogfather if I had to choose only one.
They are both sweet knives though.

Which is the best? If you had to carry a regular DF or an SOD LE, which would it be?
Go. It really is in the hand of the beholder. Both have a good feel for a large knife. At the end of the day I lean towards the DogFather. I use it it for chopping...of course, but I have cleaned 3 deer with it and a multitude of chores that a smaller knife could have done. I will say that I also use the heck out of my SOD and a bunch of others. So listen to the Dogs they will provide good insight and guidance My coaching, figure out what you want to do with a knife and then go about picking one...the other way works also Dan Wow. Three deer? Did you just hack 'em in half and let the guts fall out on their own? Now why can't there just be a "Family Dog" offering--the Dogfather, Son of Dogfather and the Dumpster Mutt or Scrapper 6 as a special saver package deal THAT would be worth dropping some cash on! LOL, The real reason I processed three deer is that I forgot my other knives and I keep a Dog Father at our deer hunting place. For the finer work I simply held up on or choked up on the tip portion of the knife. I will tell you that on the first deer when I needed to split the pelvis, I swung with light to medium force only to split the deer all the way through pelvis and back for about 9 inches...oops. I do not swing like that anymore Dan

Size doesn't mean a thing when you've got the power and got the swing! And having met you, I know that you have BOTH!

Thanks dogs! I've got an order in for a DDF. Maybe in a few months when I get some more cash I'll scratch the SOD itch.
