That picture of it disappearing into the (counter top?) is awesome. You should put it up in a photo contest, it really is that cool. Awesome job!

I was doing some fencing today and cut down a few small poplars, 3" diameter max, most fresh and very soft. It was like cutting sticks of butter.

However...
One or two of them were partially dead, the edge rolled and chipped. Only very slightly, and only on one spot near the handle. That was definitely not the spot that did the most work, so I'm chalking it up to inconsistent grinding.
Normally I would move to a steeper edge right away, but this time I'll keep the edge as is and see if I can get more consistent behavior after some sharpening.
