THAT IS PROBABLY BEST CONSIDERING SEVERAL PEOPLE JUST SPENT ALOT OF TIME HELPING THIS FELLOW OUT AND HE APPEARED TO HAVE LITTLE IF ANY SINCERE GRATITUDE. FROM THE CONTENT AND TONE OF HIS REPLIES, I MAY BE WRONG BUT FEEL QUITE CERTAIN THAT HE EXPRESSED SOME CONTEMPT FOR THE DOGS AND THE YARD. MY COMPLIMENTS TO THOSE WHO HELPED THE FELLOW DESPITE THIS.

By the way I do use my knives for more than chopping trees and twigs. More than once they have saved my a$$ in the field. In fact for more than splitting the pelvis of deer and hogs. I could tell you but then I'd have to ------- Don't mistake the enthusiastic, picture sharing cordial atmosphere here (and politeness) as a bunch of fellows who just like to fantasize. For many of us, it's just nice to be able to get away from the everyday frustrations of dealing with people in our society that are demanding, hostile and have an extreme sense of entitlement. Most of the time it's not what you ask but how you ask it when you would like assistance.

I'm sorry you feel that way Chaos. I too have been popping my head in here for probably the past 4 months. I wasn't in the market for a knife quite yet, but because of the price and the family behind the company, I knew when I needed my next knife it was going to be a Scrap Yard.

So I bookmarked this forum and whenever I jumped on to check email, weather, scores, I'd check to see if anything new was on the horizon. Lo and behold, a few weeks ago I saw the next release. Unfortunately I had to head north for some family business. But had I actually joined and not lurked, someone may have gone and got me one while I was gone. Wow, I had never seen such a thing anywhere else. What a stand up bunch of guys.

Well my Mutts on the way, and it was still worth what I paid for it, because I know who it is who is standing behind this product, and I know that it will be one of the best investments I've ever made.

So Chaos, don't give up, just check in whenever you check your email and believe me when the notice of a new release goes up, it will be at the top of the threads. Besides I think this a great way to acquire knives, you just have to be as dedicated to these knives as these knives will be to you. Just my .02.

I discovered with Swamp Rat that the longest wait for a knife is the wait for the first one. Once you've got that covered (for me it was a Camp Tramp) it's easier to wait for the next blades release. I almost learned to savor the anticipation once I had that first one. When that next one came, I needed to order another just to regain that feeling.

But dang it was frustrating waiting for the first.

Keep checking in Chaos. Don't get too frustrated with it. We're just a different breed of dog is all.

How much different would it have been had chaos asked for our help rather than whine and complain? I can hear it all now:

Hi everybody. I need your help. I've been trying to purchase a Scrapper 6 for several months, but I'm not on the Internet very often and I never seem to be at the right place at the right time when they go on sale. I can't afford to pay a markup for a Scrapper 6, so I have to buy it from the factory if I'm going to get one. What would you guys recommend I do?

Do you think that might have elicited a different response from us? Do you think some of us might have offered to help chaos score a Scrapper 6 next time they go on sale?

Moral of the story: It's easier to attract bees with honey than with a baseball bat!

I have learned that you cannot please everyone as well as you cannot allow one person to ruin it for others.

OH Well...Onward

Dan

Dice, he wants it right now. Can't you read man! He's got important stuff to do! If you're rude you can get what you want faster! And all of us are the reason he didn't get his knife! So even though we helped him tonite he don't ever want to talk to us again so just cancel his account!

LOL. Don't let the screen door hit you in the butt on the way out, chaos.

What a whiner! When I came to this forum, I had missed the DF, SS4, and S6. Having never dealt with anything in limited production, I had ordered from catalogs or websites. The dogs in the yard helped me find a DF. I made it for the military over run of S6, and I love it. I got two DMs when they went on sale. I have only been in the yard since February, and I have found many great friends here, and already own three SYKCO knife models. The yard rocks! It is his loss.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

That's true, Dan. But it's not the point I was trying to make. The point is that The Yard could have . . . and undoubtedly would have . . . accommodated chaos had he come here with a little more humility and a little less arrogance.

Anybody can buy a Scrap Yard knife at factory pricing (plus a little extra shipping) if they're patient and they want one badly enough. If they can't buy it themselves, we'll help them. We've proven that time and time again. (Hell, we'll even buy knives for others if we deem them or their causes worthy enough! )

Rule No. 3: If you can't show up to the party on time, get someone who can to cover your back!

Your point is well made

Dan
