I ended up going with the B11 over the scrapwaki. The srapwaki was $269 and the B11 was $267. I figure that I've already got a tough as heck sword but I don't have an 11" beast. I think I made the right decision. I didn't see as much action for the scrapwaki this year as I did for the swampwaki last year. The Yard had DMs, SODs, DFs, and a preorder for the scrapwakis. The swamp had RMDs and Chopweilers only - the RMDs were gone before the doors opened to the public (or around that time) and so were the black/gray DFs.
The Gladius was much more intriguing that I would have imagined. I couldn't swing the $600 price for the CG, but it looked sweet enough.
The scrapwaki had the same or similar feel (save for the handle material) as the swampwaki. It's blade shape seemed identical.
Good times.

Hi Snot...any "detailed" feedback on the handle for the ScrapZashi?
Hard on your hands? Did it appear "rugged"? + / - ?
Thanks!

I ended up going with the B11 over the scrapwaki. The novelty of a sword will wear off quickly, I believe. But the utility of a large chopper will last a lifetime. I definitely think you made the right decision. For sure the correct decision. I am getting one sword but the complete set of Basis. While the Gladius looked VERY nice- and the Zilla also- it is just something I would never use at all.I knew any DFs would be gone instantly as well as any SODs or others. I was kinda hoping there would be some WDs there for Dog's " in need" or some Scrap Muks but it looks like maybe not . To me- it looks like the Basics are the show knife to buy !! Kudos on your score Mike- hope you guys are having a great time !!

Thanks to my proxie, My Scrap Yard collection is growing by leaps and bounds, and the bank account is shrinking . He scored me a DF, DM, Scrapwaki, and B-11. Starting to get the makings of a real chop off. I would have loved to try the KZ2 but just couldn't justify it. Might have to slow down now.

Thanks! It felt very similar to the waki in balance. It was definitely rugged. The handle was somewhat rough as you'd expect with a wrapped handle. The wrapping was pretty stiff. With all the perturbations in the handle, I don't think it'd slip out of your hands. It looked like it was wrapped with an inner "colored" rope with an outer criss cross layer of a very stiff (maybe epoxied) material (maybe canvas). I never did ask what steel it was.

Yeah, I had really hoped that the Regulator style handle would be used for a Scrap Sword....but I'm sure Dan has his reasoning as to why it wouldn't work.
Snot...thank you very much for your review. I'm hoping that we can get more and more people reviewing the handle, as that is the big change from a SYKCO perspective.
