The 4 inch rule is always the safest option here in TN, however discretion goes a long way. I EDC different things all the time, and generally as long as a person conducts themselves with common sense, looks like a responsible law abiding adult and don't give LEO's any reason to question what your carrying or why, then your fine.
+1 if you go out in public dressed like a thug you will get treated like one, if you look like a responsible member of society LEs will leave you alone. i have never been searched or even questioned (not that I would ever carry anything I wasn't supposed to )

Ya....I never carry my harsey D2 auto when I wear my pants on the ground And my hat turned sideways

LOL

ill be back later boys, off to work

you think id be ok then open carrying the S5 as long as i dont look or act like troublemaker?

not that i do anyway but i just wanna make sure i get the right idea.

ill be in Chattanooga in fairfield glade, is that anywhere near you rainwalker?

For the most part you should be fine as long as you don't wander into the local bank, bar or the court house with it. Crossville's pretty laid back, it's a little down the road from me (about an hour and a half) but most of it's pretty rural too. There a lot of open woods and hunting territory, I'm sure the locals are used to seeing sportsman around carrying the tools of the trade. As long as your friendly and well behaved they'll probably not give you a second glance. I've got a few friends down that way, but haven't been in touch with them in quite some time, there's a college campus in that vicinity and on a pretty regular occasion we go there for our SCA events (medieval reenactment) where we'd dress up in Medieval costumes or Armor and the appropriate accessories (swords and the like) and have events and fighter practices... oh how I miss those days... so much fun.

If you were to get questioned about it, just remember the old saying... "it's easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission.

Also, remember that that the words "intent to go armed" means a lot. Your carrying a tool, not a weapon.

39-17-1307. Unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon.

(a) (1) A person commits an offense who carries with the intent to go armed a firearm, a knife with a blade length exceeding four inches (4"), or a club.

well there goes that.

Laws such as this make me so irritated.
