Blondie - it is really cool that you can trace your ancestors back so far. My sister-in-law is working on our families geneology, and that can take some doing! My cousin did that for a branch of our family, and traced it back to the 1400's! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> Went back far enough to our Dutch ancestors that you couldn't pronounce the names they were so weird.

The shock was non-existent. The blade balance is too neutral to create any serious shock in the first place. Compared to my plastic-handled becker brute, the hidden tang respirene handle was very comfortable and absorbed whatever vibration may have been generated. I really like this knife, even though it took some reprofiling to put a decent edge on it.
