The cardboard sleeve is a suspect, as upon closer inspection it is crushed a bit in that area. The marks don't want to come off by scratching with my fingernail. Maybe just use a black felt marker.

Well, I picked mine up at the PO this morning on my day off, and I hate to say it but I'm a bit disappointed in the quality control. At the beginning of the wrapped handle portion there are white marks. Sounds like the resin wasn't quite set when the cardboard was slid on for shipping. Either that....OR, it's possible that the resin softens up a bit in the extreme heat of the summer, in the back of a USPS truck...and then the cardboard adheres to it a bit when it re-hardens. Other thoughts?

Mine had a few white spots too, but they seemed to come off fairly easily. As hot as it's been, It's not really that surprising to me. The resin helps to give the handle a good grip. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Very interesting. As I understand it, the handle isn't covered under warranty. I wonder how Dan will respond to this? I was wondering the same thing. I personally bought my scrappy as a investment. The fact that the handle is discolored lowers the value.
