Wow, I am absolutely blown away by that mod!!!!!
Love it.
How is the piece of shaped wood attached on the bottom of the handle?
I would even look into getting a piece of Micarta to put there and shape. Super strong stuff for impact and torsion etc.
Thanks a ton for making this post, I am glad I ran into it over on the bladeforums area.

Son, that is the most bad a** bayonet I have seen. Glad the Duplicolor paint idea worked out for you too.

JJ, That IS awsome!!! You really did some fine work. Now IF you could just talk Dan into making a couple three thousand more you would have a fine side job!

Thanks all.
And, thank you, Sumo. I did some scratch testing on the non visible parts of the tang and that stuff seems pretty tough. The best part about was how thin it went on. Unlike regular spray paint it covered well without a heavy build up of paint. That allowed me to paint the smaller parts in the pommel separately and still have them fit back into the pommel. The move without any increased friction.

Thanks a ton for making this post, I am glad I ran into it over on the bladeforums area. It is simply held on by the wrap. No wiggle of any kind. I am confident the ash I used for it will hold up, but if it doesn't for some reason, I will look into mircata. Thanks for the suggestion.
