Well, yeah, I watch Bear. No, I don't try the stuff he does or recommend most of it, but the guy can do stuff I never did, that's for sure. I have his Bayley knife and like the Parang. Yes, Dan should definitely make us a parang!
Here is one Rick Marchand made for me.

MB, YUP, just like Horn Dogs, complete with the "rough" finish and all! Just throw a Res-c grip on her and ship her out!

Maybe in the $50 price range <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> FINE! I'd be willing to pay a bit more....

Yes, please! 3/16" thick no? Nice and fast and a regulator-like handle would be great!

Just watched Bear yesturday- ate apples from bear poop- where else you gonna get entertainment like that?! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

A parang is a simple chopping blade. Mine has a straight edge, but some are curved. And a Resiprene handle is perfect for a chopping tool. A Scrap Yard parang would be among the best, if not the best, in the world. Like some have said, just leave the blade in the rough. I do hope Dan decides to make one.

Horn Dog, I like the idea that you have submitted above. I do believe the Res-C would be comfortable but with the wrapped handles being an idea that Dan is wanting to explore more, I would be happy with either type of grip.

I like the idea, but doesn't some parang styles have a point, in case you need to poke something.
