I guess when you grow up with them you get used to it. I remember my first when I was in sixth grade...Think I pooped my pants.....I remember my head on the ground and watching the ground litterally "roll" about 4 inches high. you could have surfed GI Joe on that thing!

I've never been in a tornado. Been in 3 hurricanes though. One in North Carolina in 1998, can't remember the name of it. I was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station New River. Next was Rita in 05. Then Ike (the eye passed right over my house). Did I mention that I miss California?

I've never been to the rockies I can tell you I would definately retire there.

I was at the beach one year and a hurricane came in on us, we just hunkered down and rode it out. When the eye came through, we went out on the beach and watched waterspouts dance off the shore. That was a great summer.

Worst one we ever had up here was in 1989, Hurricane Hugo. No power for a week, countless trees down on powerlines and roads, etc.

Hah, I was at work and I told my wife to go to Dallas. I stopped and got a whole bunch of ice on my way home from work and hunkered down with my cat and dog and a bottle of jack. Traffic would not permit me to leave town. After the storm I went around my neighborhood and fixed some fences and what not. I was the only one around. It was like some post-apocalyptic scene. It was great!
