We've been getting tons of calls over this one, even at night.

I agree, no winner there. The cop is actually a very good cop, I know him and he's no ego maniac or anything like that. Very down to earth, and this is just killing him inside. Sounded to me like just a whole mix of things that went wrong all at the same time.

Oh Man I feel for you and the guys Todd. Hopefully this will get resolved quickly and they can put it behind them as best as they can. Something like that can NEVER be forgotten, but it MUST be set aside and allow life to continue on as best as possible. AND YES, I know this is easier to say than it is to do. I really feel sorry for everyone involved.

The K-9 handler is also going through a lot, just a different sort than the other guys.

I know the K9 officer well too, he works on the shift that works days on our rotation. He's a really good officer, and you bet he's torn up over the dog. He's shed a lot of tears over Taz, and I don't know that he'll ever take another dog.

Loosing a dog, be it a pet or a "Partner" is hard no matter what the circumstances may be.
