Very bad indeed! I hope the bastard burns in hell!
It is times like these that the eternal "Lake of Fire" punishment seems just, Dan.

Great points by all. I wish that politicians would look at the facts and the stats before they go making it harder and harder for the law abiding citizen to obtain a firearm for legal use, even though criminals generally get their guns through other than legal channels...

I agree, probably the first call will be against firearms, although I hope not. I oppose that line of thinking for sure, I think the first thing we should take a hard look at is all the tv shows and video games that glorify violence. Flame away, but if you have kids you know that 30 seconds after watching pro wrestling the kids are trying the same moves. Is it any wonder, raise a kid on any one of the tv shows that are crime based, along with a steady diet of ultra realistic video games, throw in some anti-depressants too for good measure.

That may not be the case here, but its just another symptom of a society that is out of balance. So much suffering for so many by the heartless acts of one (as far as we know).

Jmosh is right ,when I came in and turned on the TV it was MSNBC with a couple idiots taking turns blaming movies ,video games and no gun control. The antis love
massacres and use the victims families to push their agendas. It was a school shooting in the UK that killed the last remnants of their freedoms. I think a campus should have about 10% of it's security guards armed and capable of defending against terrorists or spree killers. Sometimes there are high costs to living in a free society.

The guy had a 9 and a 22 revolver and because he was so young it was not likely he had military training. More probable he studied other spree killings and learned from them. He chained the doors before starting his rampage.

How about 100% of the students armed, that would stop it for sure. Our citizens are capable of defending themselves, even though society wants you to believe that banning all weapons for self defense is the answer. The Police sure can't protect you until you are already cold.

One student with some guts and a gun, could probably have saved many lives. Have you seen the people on that campus they are interviewing. Most probably have never seen a gun before and would not touch one if their lives depended on it.

Well, I'm sure that everyone has heard about the shootings and Virginia Tech. Sounds like 32 dead at this point, hopefully no more.

Its unfortunate that there are lowlifes out there who are willing to take innocent lives for no reason. Its too bad that the cops didn't have a chance to kill him themselves - what a coward move - killing a bunch of kids and then offing yourself.

I'm expecting there to be a uproar from the media about assault weapons, as I'm assuming that this guy used an AR or something of the sort. I hope he wasn't prior military, but odds are good that he was.

I just ordered an M4 upper to go with my heavy barreled AR15 today, as I have a feeling that they may become a thing of the past again before too long.

Just wanted to get a little discussion going - and pay some respect to those that died today in this senseless tragedy.

I would ask the Yard to keep these students and their families in their thoughts and prayers.

Dan

Investment tip for everyone. By stripped lowers for AR's. Buy them now and buy them often. Once Hillary gets in the white house and Bill is head of the UN we are all in trouble. People keep telling me she won't be elected. I am sorry to say that most people in this country are dumb enough to elect her. I pray not.

I don't think she could get elected, but stranger things have happened. She doesn't have as much charm as Uncle Billy. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

Prayers go up for the children and their family's of todays tragedy.
There are no words I have to offer in a time like this.Just ask for comfort and strength to those involved. This is a parents worse nightmare. I could not even imagine losing your child while at class in college to a crazed shooter. So sad. So very sad.
We weep for their loss and will pray for their souls.God bless them all please.

Peace.

Sad day for all. I wonder where are the gungho students, if I were there I would have retaliate with everything, fire hose, Fire extinguishers, rocks..or run, hide for cover. (C&C)
I don't oppose CCW, but say if I'm there in civilian clothing dueling it out with the shooter with a handgun, SWAT came in, I believe the SWAT will shoot me as well in all the choas. Unless I'm a crack shot and got him first, I might be mistaken as a 2nd shooter. I wonder why no one pull the fire alarm or something. Campus security? Safety alarms. I believe after 911, campus security was stepped up because of the chemistry, gas, microbes in labs can be potential weapon. Worst of all no PA system or general alarm! Painful lesson for all now.
